The Megalodon...The Great, Great White Shark. Does It Still Swim The Oceans?

Imagine if you will, a beautiful day off the Florida Coast. You are on vacation and have decided to do some deep sea fishing. As you head out on the 35 ft. fishing vessel. The Captain tells you it is a great day for fishing and he expects to find some great angling action for you. You watch the land slowly disappear behind you as you bask in the sun, heading for the deeper waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

Suddenly, you are violently tossed from your deck chair as the boat lurches sideways in the water, the engines rev wildly as they leave the water at the rear of the boat. You hear shouting from the Captain to the Boat's Crew. Grabbing the rail you stand, looking over the side. You see the large white form passing beneath the boat, the massive dorsal fin just below the waters surface. It's size dwarfs the boat with its 35 ft. frame. It's a shark! But this is no typical shark and none like you have ever seen before. Even larger than the Great White which can grow up to 25 ft. in length (That we know, as that is the largest great White ever caught), this 75 ft. behemoth is Carcharodon Megalodon or better known as the Megalodon.

If this were to occur, you could possibly consider yourself lucky, as a shark that size could easily tip a fishing boat of 35 ft. like it was a toy in the water. Lucky for you, they are not quite as common as other sharks we are familiar with, and most experts believe they populated the ocean more than 1.5 million years ago and may have only went extinct around 10,000 years ago...But did they?

According to those same experts, the Megalodon could reach sizes from 50 ft. to possibly 100 ft. long and weigh in at 49 tons (At 50 ft). Considering the largest sharks we know of today being no more than 25 ft. in length weighing roughing 2.5 tons, that is a whole lot of fish!

So if the experts, those being Zoologist and Paleontologist, saying the Megalodon is extinct, why would we be discussing it here? There are a few reasons for this.

First, there is the understanding that we as humans know more about our moon and solar system than we do about our own oceans. Less than 5 percent of the ocean has been explored. That means that there could be a number of water based creatures out there that we have never seen before, and honestly, there is a very good chance that that is the case.

The coelacanth (Pronounced "see-la-canth"), was thought to be extinct for 65 million years before one was accidentally discovered in 1938 by a South African museum  curator who found it at a local fisherman's port while looking for different specimens of fish and ocean life. 65 million years is much longer than only 10,000 years, which is when megalodon went extinct. In the fossil record, this would be less than a fraction of a second ago on the clock of time. This finding, coupled with the fact that 6,969 other new species were discovered in 2006, should raise some eyebrows on there being a possibility, even if remote, that megalodon could still exist today. (http://news.mongabay.com/2008/0527-species.html)

Also is the find of megalodon teeth. One of these teeth was, geologically speaking, "fresh" and date to about the time of the Lascaux Cave paintings, around 24,000 years ago. The other was much more recent, dating to 11,000 years ago, around the time mankind was migrating from Asia to North America.

Then are also the eyewitness accounts of the predator. One of the greatest occurred in 1918, taken from David G. Stead's "Sharks and Rays of Australian Seas", published in 1963. This is the account in the words of Stead:

"In the year 1918, I recorded the sensation that had been caused among the "outside" crayfish men at Port Stephens, when, for several days, they refused to go to their regular fishing grounds in the vicinity of Broughton Island. The men had been at work on the fishing grounds--which lie in deep water--when an immense shark of almost unbelievable proportions put in an appearance, lifting pot after pot containing many crayfishes, and taking, as the men said, "pots, mooring lines, and all.

Those crayfish pots were three feet and six inches in diameter. They basically contained up to three dozens large crayfish, each weighing several pounds. All the people who saw it said that the shark was unimaginably monstrous. However, the lengths that they gave were absurd. Most likely, they were overwhelmed with what they saw. But these were men who were used to the sea, all sorts of weather, and all kinds of sharks. One of those men said that that shark was at least 300 feet (92 meters) long. Others said that it was as long as their pier: almost 115 feet (35 meters)."

There is also the history and lore of the Polynesian people about the "Lord of the Deep". This white shark is said to be over 100 ft long. It has also been reported that along the coast of some more remote fishing villages in the pacific, there are places the local fishermen will not fish because of their belief and accounts of the creature being in that area. This has yet to be documented by experts as those who have tried to investigate have not persuaded any local fisherman in those villages to take them to the sighting areas.

Also, as recently as 2007, swimmers in Australia reported sightings of a large "monster" shark and a local beach there was closed for two days due to the fear of the creature. Zane Grey, famed 20th Century author of western novels and deep sea angler even had his own reports of what could have been the Megalodon.

Below I have included some links to other sites that deal with the Megalodon story. I only say that as vast as our planets oceans are, and for as little as we really know about them, for us to think the megalodon could not exist is very presumptuous on our part. But as you take your next beach vacation and look out over the rolling waves as they crash onto the shore, just remember...when you walk into the water, you are not alone and you are definitely not on top of the food chain.

Werewolves...In 2010?!?

The Legend of the Werewolf dates back to the beginning of recorded history. For as long as men have been writing, there have been documents that pertained to "Were-beasts" of some sort all over the world.

Perhaps the most famous from the ancient world comes from Greece, and the story of Lycaon (or Lycaeon), King of Arcadia. Written by the Roman Poet Ovid in the "Metamorphoses" around 6 AD. Lycaon, who lived before the "Great Deluge", decided to test the divinity of the gods and was said to have served the flesh of either his slaughtered child, Nyktimos, his grandchild, Arkas., or a Molossian captive to the gods at a banquet. When Zeus discovered what was done, he was furious, overturning the table, destroying the fifty sons of Lycaon with lightning and turning Lycaon himself into a wolf. After this, the gods of Olympus were so angry that they sent the "Great Deluge" to destroy mankind. (A Greek history of the Great Flood, mentioned in the Bible and by cultures around the world. Another story for another time.) Hence, the history of the word Lycos, or wolf.

Until the first century AD, there were some who worshipped in the secretive cult of Zeus Lycaeus. They believed one could transform from man to wolf with the sacrifice of human flesh.

The legend, however, did not stop in the 1st century. In 16th century France, where the Werewolf is known as Loup Garou, the fear of Werewolves was so great that people were executed for Lycanthropy along with those who were being executed for Witchcraft. There are also a number of stories, even in our modern day, of Werewolf and Werewolf type creatures.

1958 - A story from Fate Magazine told the story of Mrs. Delburt Gregg of Greggton, Texas. On a July night in 1958 Mrs. Gregg reported being awoke from sleep by the sound of scratching on the screen of her bedroom window. Upon looking out into the night, she saw nothing in the darkness until a flash of lightning from an approaching thunderstorm illuminated a "Huge, shaggy, wolf like creature with yellow eyes" glaring back at her. In her statement she continued that the creature darted into the bushes of her yard. She retrieved a flashlight and shown it on the bushes where the creature had sought cover. When it emerged, to her surprise, it was not a creature, but the tall dark figure of a man who hurried off down the road into the darkness. (Yeah, I know, Mrs. Gregg in Greggton, TX sounded fishy to me, too. So I checked into it. As of this writing, there are 35 residents living in Greggton, TX with published phone numbers and addresses, so the story is very possible.)

1970 - In Whitewater, New Mexico, a group of Teenagers reported seeing a fast moving figure along the side of the road. believing it to be a prank, they got closer to identify what or who it was. After nearing the creature, they realized it was no schoolmate. The boys sped off down the road with the creature in pursuit. One of the boys drew a shotgun from beneath his seat and shot at the creature. In all of their police statements, they reported believing the creature had been hit because it stopped pursuing, but all were too scared to go back and look.

1972 - In Ohio, from the months of July to October, numerous sightings throughout the state reported seeing large, dark, hairy creatures who had dog or canine like features but walked upright like a man. The similarities were astounding as they stayed the same from report to report.

These are but a few stories, but possibly the most famous location for sightings of Werewolf like creatures, is on Bray Road in Dalavan, Wisconsin. A number of reports of large man/wolf creatures with canine features, large fangs and glowing eyes have been made throughout the years in this area and in Michigan as well.

So the question remains, are Werewolves real? We know there is a psychological condition of Lycanthropy, were people believe themselves to be Werewolves, but are there people who suffer from a true form of Lycanthropy, that have the ability to turn from man to creature? Some have believed werewolves to be witches, who possess the power of shape shifting. Other have believed it to be a curse on a family bloodline or individual. Some stories also point to the possibility of people who are deeply involved in Satanism, having sold all out to the Devil, that are granted such powers.

Is it possible that some of these sightings are actually of the famed Bigfoot creature? Could the two be the same?

There are many questions that can be asked with very few answers. Given the stories and legends throughout history, I would have to say that the possibility is real, though until someone who actually is a Werewolf comes forth and proves it to be so, we may never know.

UFO Sightings For May 2010 In US

Over 250 reported cases of Unidentified Flying Objects in the United States for the month of May, 2010. (National UFO Reporting Center - http://www.nuforc.org/webreports/ndxe201005.html)

Of course, this number is always affected by mistaking normal or man made anomalies for UFO's, and by the occasional outright hoax. It is also just the number of cases reported, and given the fact that many fear being made fun of, or called "Crazy" by the supposed "Main Stream", the number of actual sightings are probably more dramatic still.

Date: May 29th, 2010
Time: Approximately 9:30pm
Location: Oregon City, Oregon
Reports: 3
Overview: Triangular Light Formation

According to eyewitness accounts, the lights that were seen were white/yellow to orange/red in color. All accounts given stated the lights where in a triangular shape, hovering low above the city or the general location of the city. (Keep in mind that darkness distorts depth perception and distance).

The first account given was of an individual driving to work who saw the triangular formation for approximately 20 minutes over the city. Two other accounts stated that the lights changed formation. One report stating one light "flying" separate from the others before all disappeared (Three lights in triangle formation, one separate), the other stating a number of lights changing direction and criss-crossing each other, four at a time with a number of 12 total, before the lights disappeared.

These lights reportedly could be seen in the eastern night sky if viewed from the Interstate 205 area of Oregon City, looking towards the cliff where the Oregon City Elevator (A Municipal Structure) is located.

The sightings lasted from 3 minutes to 20 minutes in length, given by the reporting individuals.

Mysteries at Olyphant, PA?

A little known subject for most, are the Mysteries of the City of Olyphant, PA. Olyphant, a town of approximately 5,000 residents sits in the Northeast corner of the state of Pennsylvania. The town, from all outward appearances, looks like any other town of it's size. But there are those who talk about the "Stargate" and it's connection to the Constellation of Orion and UFOlogy, as well as the connection to ancient Egyptian symbolism.

It has been said by those who have delved into the mysteries of Olyphant that the story of this town has been obscured by the "Establishment", that those in power have tried to hide the truth of this town.

When looking at a map of the town, one will be pointed to the connection to Orion by the layout of certain way points, churches laid out on the far corners with a Jewish Temple in the center, the design being the position of the stars that make up Orion. 6 Churches and 1 Temple, making the number 7. the Egyptians were said to worship the 7 stars of the constellation, believing the Pharaoh "God kings" came from Orion, and that when they died here, their souls returned there as well.

This, as well as the earthen Pyramid that sits overlooking the town (Not as much now as in past decades because of erosion and man's influence) and the positioning of an anchor, symbolic of the Egyptian "Ankh", pointing towards the Temple, makes some believe that the Temple may be a gateway to another dimension or plain of existence. Perhaps a Stargate with access to Orion itself.

The Temple is no longer used for worship, but was bought by Magicians Dorothy D. And John Pravo, owners if the Houdini Museum in Scranton, PA own the home beside the Temple, and it has been rumored that the Temple may hold some magic secrets. On her store in Scranton is the Words, "Houdini Lives". Does she perhaps have access to a dimension or portal to know that Houdini does live "In another existence"?

From what I have read on the Olyphant, PA mysteries, one name comes up most, that of John Peruka, who has done the most research and commenting on this issue. The small amount of information available on this issue seems to always include his name in some part. I do know that numerology plays a large part in what has been suggested about Olyphant, though I am not familiar enough with that discipline to say one way or the other if it is logical or just wishful math on someones part.

It this town and the "Mystery" worth another look by Paranormal Investigators? Is this a story just made up by a man who sees things of no real importance and builds a fantasy story around them? Just click the links below and read for yourself about the "Mysteries of Olyphant".

The Apollo Moon Landing...Was It Faked?

In 1969, America became the first nation to successfully put a man on the moon. Less than a decade before, President John F. Kennedy had made the call for America to be the first to arrive at our closest celestial neighbor. When America watched Neil Armstrong take that "One giant leap for mankind", America shot ahead of the Soviet Union is the Space Race.

But did it really happen? Since that time, skeptics have put forth evidences and reasons of why it did not while defenders have tried to disprove the theories as "Loony", pardon the pun.

The best evidence that the Lunar Landing was faked comes from the photographs supposedly taken by NASA themselves. Problems with shadowing, light sources and what could have been or not been done with equipment and technology at the time, have been the key issues behind the skepticism. Some things that do not fit well with the NASA account of the Apollo Missions:

1. Radiation - A simple issue to examine, but not a simple one to overcome when dealing with space travel. Not only is there the issue of solar flares and the radiation being presented by our our sun, but also of the Van Allen belt. This belt of radiation is actually two belts with the same name. the radiation in those belts would have to be flown through to reach the moon. It should have, in theory, been so strong that Russian scientist in the late 1950's said astronauts would need 4 feet of lead just to be safe. Oddly enough, the Apollo capsule was made of thin aluminum and no ill effects from the astronauts was reported. In 1998, the Space Shuttle and its crew flew to its highest altitude ever, 350 miles up. This is hundreds of miles below the Van Allen Belt, and yet the crew on board the shuttle reported seeing radiation so strong they could see it through their eyelids. What effect would that radiation have had on an Astronaut having to travel through the radiation belt for a long period of time in a capsule made of 1/8 inch aluminum?

2. The "Left Behind" Equipment - There was equipment left on the surface of the moon. This actually started before we supposedly set foot on moon.
1959 - Luna 2
1962 - Ranger 4
1965 - Luna 5
1966 - Luna
1966 - Surveyor 1
1969 - Apollo 11 Decent and Ascent stages
1971 - 3 Moon Buggies left by Apollo's 15-17

There is more equipment there than this, but basically, the Moon has become the largest trash dump outside planet earth. Pretty sad considering that the Astronauts were supposed to have left a kind of welcome basket for anyone who may happen across it from another world with a gold olvie branch, some recordings and the like. Not sure why they would stop off on our moon...No refilling stations...Unless they are built on the dark side...but that is another blog for a later date.

The issue has been raised that if the stuff is there, why can't we see it from earth? Not with the most powerful telescopes, not even Hubble, and even with the recent photographic mapping of the moons surface, there is no trace of the items left behind. Defenders say that no telescope would be able to pick up the objects because of how telescopic lenses work. I can only tell you that they throw out some big numbers and lose me completely. If you are a genius at math, you can check out the calculations for yourself.

3. Space Suits - Far from what we have available to Astronauts today were the space suits worn by those first Astronauts. This would be the biggest sticking point for me in the entire theory of why we didn't visit the moon. I have read the logistics of the NASA Radiation Program in reference to the Apollo missions, and I have yet to find HOW the Astronauts where protected from the radiation they would have encountered, not only in general space travel, but especially in reference to the Van Allen belt. At the time of the Apollo missions, was our technology good enough to prevent radiation poisoning of the Astronauts? In reading what the suits were made of, and with my limited knowledge of how radiation works, I can't say for certain. though this is a good question to be asked. Of all the dangers they faced, radiation and micrometeor's would have been the two biggest.

My brief outlay hardly covers the surface of what the skeptics and defenders have to say on the issue, so I will give you two very good websites to visit. Decide for yourself if we did, or did not, land on the moon.

Bilderberg...Leading Us To A New World Order?

Some would laugh at the very question. Many within the Powerful and Elite would snicker and scoff at the mention of it, especially those who have been privy to attend the meetings of this secretive society. When the stray reporter may ask about Bilderberg, which is very rare at best, be sure the Reporter will be made to look like an idiot and conspiracy theorist.

But, there are facts about this group that you will never hear. The main stream news and media outlets will never report on a Bilderberg Conference, nor on the people that are found to have attended.

Founded in 1954 by Jozef Retinger, the first meeting was held at the Hotel De Bilderberg in the Netherlands, from which the group took it's now infamous name. Retinger was made Secretary of the group until his death in 1960. Retinger was also an advocate for a unified Europe, and founded the European Movement and the Council of Europe. The founding of the European Movement led to the European Union as we know today.

So what was the reason for the Conferences to begin with?

It was to promote what is known as Atlanticism, the idea of partnership and cooperation among European and North American countries. This idea led to groups like NATO, which is a birth child of Atlanticism.

What do we know about the Bilderberg Group?

The truth is, just what they want us to know and what has been smuggled out of the conferences by some brave souls. The rules for a Bilderberg Attendee is basically this, "Whatever is said or done at the conference never leaves the conference". The strict adherence to that rule has led to very little being told by those who have been there. They just don't talk.

Now let me make clear that the Bilderberg Group is not a group that just anyone will get into. It is the most Elite and Powerful people on the planet. Those who are involved in Banking, Corporations, News and Media Agencies, Politics and Academia are the ones who make the guest lists each year. Usually, there are 100 to 150 people who are invited to attend. These people are chosen by a steering committee with two members each from what is believed to be around 18 nations. An Advisory Committee also exists, but "Membership" per se, is not in the Bilderberg rules, though I suppose you could say that if you have attended, then you are a member.

That is but a brief synopsis of the group. The fact is, to get into an in depth discussion of this group would take more space than I have available. So I am going to outline some of the things we do know, and are rumored, about the Bilderberg Group.

1. They are the "Elite" of our society. From Bankers, Corporate CEO's, Politicians, Media and News and Academia.

2. Of those who have been in attendance from the US is Henry Kissinger, David Rockefeller and Bill Clinton. These are but a few, there are many, many more, including sitting Congressmen and Senators.

3. Many of the members have overlapping powers in the Council on Foreign Relations and the Trilateral Commission, two of the most secretive and powerful groups in Washington DC, headed by those who are not even elected to power by the people, yet they have the power to bend legislation to their will.

4. Many of the hierarchy of the group have ties to big oil and pharmaceuticals. David Rockefeller, a long standing member of Bilderberg, in partnership with JP Morgan Chase, owns over half of the pharmaceutical interest in the US.

5. Corporate Heads from Shell, Exxon, Nokia, Coca-Cola and other large corporations have been in attendance as well.

6. Rumors have surfaced in the past that a cure for cancer was suppressed by the Bilderberg Group because of its member ties to the multi-billion dollar drug industry. Cancer is big business, generating billions in drug sales just in the US. it is also rumored that oil prices have risen and fallen in price according to the whims and wishes of big oil CEO's for the purposes of the Bilderberg Group and their agenda.

7. NAFTA and the WTO (World Trade Organization) were all idea's that came from Bilderberg. It was not to bring other nations into equal trade and access with the United States, but it was to allow Corporations to have open doors to send American manufacturing jobs overseas. NAFTA was designed to bring America down to third world levels, not raise third world countries up to ours. So far, that plan has succeeded.

8. Bilderberg has used it power to start wars and "Overthrow" those who did not line up with their philosophy.

9. President Obama, while on the campaign trail in Virginia, suddenly left his plane during a stop there, leaving the reporters and media people to ask Robert Gibbs where he had gone. Robert Gibbs replied if he wanted them to know, he would tell them when he returned. Bilderberg was meeting at the time in Chantilly, VA. It is believed by many that Obama was summoned to the Conference to receive the "Blessing" of the Bilderbergs.

The last four are just rumors that have surfaced from the most credible sources on the subject, but how much of this could be the truth?

When you have annual meetings with the 100 to 150 of the world's most "Elite", security provided by the military, the CIA and Secret Service agencies from around the world, complete with media blackout of the event, though some in attendance are members and heads of the media, what could possibly come out of this? Do you suppose they are just playing gin rummy and drinking scotch? Highly doubtful.

Is the Bilderberg Group responsible for some of the things mentioned previously? Are they steering the course of nations through their annual meetings? Is this group working to bring forth a New World Order or a One World Government?

Here are some great links to a couple of websites that track what the Bilderberg Group has been up to. Some very good reading and some deeper thoughts on the subject. Check it out and decide for yourself.
